چکیده
Advanced glycation end products (AGEs) influence periodontal disease onset and progression by denaturing proteins in the tissues inducing inflammation. Therefore, inhibiting both AGE formation itself AGE-induced inflammation would be effective for preventing disease. This study aimed to find anti-inflammatory ingredients oral-care that also exhibit inhibitory effect. We evaluated vitro effects of five with known products: allantoin (ALA), 6-aminohexanoic acid, dipotassium glycyrrhizinate (GKII), lysozyme chloride, azulene sulfonate sodium hydrate (AZU). Furthermore, order assess implications antiglycation effect these disease, human gingival fibroblasts (HGFs) were treated AGEs formed presence or absence each ingredient, IL-6 expression level culture supernatant was analyzed enzyme-linked immunosorbent assays. Our results showed ALA, GKII, AZU inhibited vitro. In addition, compared bovine serum albumin (BSA) incubated glyceraldehyde only (i.e. glyceraldehyde-derived AGE), BSA component production from HGFs vitro, suggesting components may prevent AGE. suggest possibility product can help two distinctive functions-antiglycation anti-inflammation.

Advanced Glycation End-Products and Their Receptor-Mediated Roles: Inflammation and Oxidative Stress
Glycation is a protein modification, which results in a change in a protein structure. Glycation is believed to be the etiology of various age-related diseases such as diabetes mellitus and Alz-heimer’s disease (AD). Activation of microglia and resident macrophages in the brain by glycated proteins with subsequent oxidative stress and cytokine release may be an important factor in the progressi...

Aging is the progressive accumulation of damage to an organism over time leading to disease and death. Aging research has been very intensive in the last years aiming at characterizing the pathophysiology of aging and finding possibilities to fight age-related diseases. Various theories of aging have been proposed. In the last years advanced glycation end products (AGEs) have received particula...

Advanced glycation end products, soluble receptor for advanced glycation end products, and risk of colorectal cancer.
BACKGROUND Advanced glycation end products (AGE) accumulate in human tissue proteins during aging, particularly under hyperglycemia conditions. AGEs induce oxidative stress and inflammation via the receptor for AGEs (RAGE) and soluble RAGE (sRAGE) can neutralize the effects mediated by RAGE-ligand engagement. METHODS We examined the association between N(ε)-(carboxymethyl)lysine (CML), a prom...

Tubulointerstitial disease, a prominent phenomenon in diabetic nephropathy, correlates with decline in renal function. The underlying pathogenic link between chronic hyperglycemia and the development of tubulointerstitial injury has not been fully elucidated, but myofibroblast formation represents a key step in the development of tubulointerstitial fibrosis. RAGE, the receptor for advanced glyc...
